Myself Kunachelvan Shanmugalingam
My novel idea of Tutoring at home has created an extensive team of rowing ambassadors in Education throughout the Greater Toronto Area. My team of nearly 150 teachers does their daily rounds of tutoring 1,800 students. My concept of imparting education to the younger generation in their homes has made it convenient and easier for both the students and the parents. Arriving in Canada in 1992 from my motherland Sri Lanka, then I completed my school studies at Woodlands High School in 1996, thereafter I entered McMaster University and passed out as a Software Engineer in the year 2000. I worked for Nortel Networks for a brief period of two years. Driven by an interest to be self-employed and to put my education to better use, I struck on this novel idea of tutoring in the homes.
"Tuition on wheels", so to speak was started with a modest 15 students at the beginning, and gradually began to grow. Within five years, the number of students has exceeded 1,800 with nearly 150 teachers covering Toronto, Markham, Brampton, Etobicoke, Ajax, Mississauga, Pickering, and Scarborough areas. I am proud to say that my business flourishes on referrals and word of mouth. I select the best of the teachers dedicated to their work and all of them are Degree or Diploma holders. I am today a happy and contented individual that I am providing education to the younger generation in their own homes.
I have also created many businesses in Sri Lanka and India and provided employment opportunities for many people living there. I have also introduced the King Software Solution and created many websites such as Matrimonial, Radio, Media, Restaurants, Listing, and eCommerce, etc. My mission is to provide employment to at least 1000 people of the Sri Lankan population and to resurrect my disappearing Tamil heritage. Thank God for giving me a sign in my life and trust in God in my life. I also thank my wife for walking along my path of ambition. I am looking forward to my Tamil natives to support me in what ideal path.
